The long awaited Coextinction Movie Screening will take place on October 14 at 6-9pm, followed by an evening ocean afterterparty and student-led reception. Join us at the UBC Center for Interactive Research in Sustainability, (2260 West Mall, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4). All you have to do is RVSP with this link (https://bit.ly/UBCoextinction ). Join UBC Surf Club and Ocean Uprise along with partners organizations Sea Legacy, UBC Sustainability, Climate Hub UBC, Sustainable Ocean Alliance, ECOP Canada, UBC aqua society, and other wonderful partners engaging in ocean-climate-biodiversity action here in the Pacific Northwest.
Watch the award-winning Coextinction – a film about the final attempt to protect the last 73 Southern Resident orcas from extinction. Engage in a live Q&A moderated by Bodhi Patil (student-activist), featuring Will George (Tsleil Waututh water protector), and two more special guests!
Join 200 of your friends, fellow students, ocean-lovers, newbie conservationists, and biodiversity experts, at the ocean afterparty. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Lots of fun, concrete calls-to-action, and impact will be provided 🙂 This event serves as a networking session and the launch of the BC Oceans Hub – bringing early career ocean professionals and all folks who love water into the same room! We are all about building community and impact in the work we do for people and the planet.
This event is open to everyone and we invite everyone to join! Bring your friends, family, and loved-ones. Stoked to see ya!!!
