February 12th – The Climate Slamposium

🪷OPEN CALL🪷: Are you looking for ways to creatively communicate your climate justice art, poetry, music, research or action with the UBC and broader community?⭐️

The Climate Slamposium 🎤invites students to come share your climate change related poetry, storytelling, research, and art on Feb 12 @ 6-9 PM in the Hatch Art Gallery (2nd Floor, AMS Student Nest – 6133 University Blvd). This is a PAID opportunity!

Join us to mobilize and honour your climate grief, love, hope and voices of student leadership and storytelling.❣️Our event centers climate justice which means understanding how climate change is interconnected to systems of oppression & therefore requires dismantling capitalism, colonial violences, racism, gender based violence, transphobia to create a more livable and liberated present and future for all.❤️‍🔥Especially for working class Indigenous, Black and racialized peoples impacted hardest by climate change while simultaneously being least responsible.

This event is being hosted with the Hatch Art Gallery, UBC Climate Hub and SEEDS Sustainability program to kick-off our Climate Catharsis exhibit and is also part of UBC’s Climate Emergency Week! 🌸💫
